2 MORE DAYS

Necesito mas tapas!!! These are so good - roasted hot peppers, "pimientos de padrón."

CEMENTERIO DEL ESTE

There is a saint here named Francesc Canals Ambrós, "El Santet" - and one of the most visited graves in the East Cemetery. We can't find any information on why he's so popular, except rumor has it he was a humble young man who died in a fire in 1932 and that people have great religious devotion for his (alleged) miracles. They leave handwritten notes through a glass window in front of his grave, then pray and walk away without looking back. I wish I had known this before I got here. Anyway, this was a really special place with lots of evil cats.

FONT MONTJUÏC

We took an awesome night tour bus around town and saw the Magic Fountain of Mont Juic! I was lookin' for the magic, 'Dwight Twilly' style. After awhile things got all green, misty and awesome and then ... well, no one will ever believe me.

GOODNIGHT NICI!

Just workin' on my novel!! xoxo

LAND OF SAND & SHANDY

While most everyone I knew was getting home from Diamondhead I was wandering around the train stations trying to get to Sitges! Oh man, it took 3 trains and 3 tickets and a couple of long, hot walks but we made it! It's a real cute town south of Barcelona ... and this shandy / clara / beer with lemon thing has become a daily fixation...

OMG! Tweekers on the beach, it's just a little taste of Polk Street in Spain!

Slim Shandy and the Beach Princess (kidding Jill!)

Here's Jill and her handsome broadcaster friend Thomas ¡WHO HAD A CAMEO ON 30 ROCK!, and also lived in Nebraska - it's clear, the most good looking people come from the midwest

MUSEU DELS AUTOMATS

That totally sounds like robots but it's the Catalan sister of Musee Mechanique in SF. Today was one of those days where I completely failed at pronouncing anything correctly (which is almost everyday!) Jill and I went up a 'Funicular' (I kept saying 'Fundido') to the Tibidabo (I kept saying Tibidibi / Scooby Doo.) But not all was lost, I found this awesome picture of Nici and me, an inferno, a french execution and A MIRROR REFLECTION of what I look like after one week in Barcelona. It was really hard to capture the whiskey eye on this chick but she was awesome!

TEMPLE DE SAGRAT COR

Thank you google or I'd have no idea where I was! This was also at the Tibidoobiedoo.

If you aren't careful Jesus will land on your head!

Just tryin' to fit in here in the land of las bonitas!

Yes, people are inside of those bubbles playing in the water and I took this photo to remind myself that when I'm rich to get some of these for my infinity pool!

BREAKFAST

I swear I like coming to Europe just because it's an excuse to eat bread & cheese upon arrival and for every meal forward.

APARTAMENTO

No complaints from me with this view - but I gotta say, the real icing on the cake was the "NEBRASKA" restaurant across the street from our apartment. I mean, what the hell? Jill and I were dying! Like, what do they serve there? Hamburgers? Red Beer? Corn on the Cob? We planned to go there immediately - but alas, they are closed until August 28th, the day we leave Spain. However, since we're such loyal Huskers, we may stay an extra night just to see if they have runzas.

NEWARK STROMBOLI

I had 3 hours to find this stromboli and it took me 3 minutes. I swear I would move back to NYC just to eat these.

COUNTY FAIR

Oh man we all know Sara loves a County Fair!!! There was this 80s Hairband tribute playing that was kind of like Steel Panther and I pretty much forced my brother to take me ... we were not disappointed! Aside from the lame-ass wig the singer was wearing, they sounded great ... lots of Ozzy, AC/DC, Def Leppard - I felt like the asshole in the crowd with Budweiser intuition because I felt like I knew the songs before they played 'em ... haha. OH! And they were selling beer koozies for a buck at the bar = heaven!

This drummer was named Playboy and when his drum riser started spinning we lost our minds!

HA! Doug and Sara are the last to leave, big surprise.

One more funny - the singer was like, "OK this next song is by a band with 4 letters in their name, and two of them are the same!"
Doug yelled, 'RATT!' and I yelled, 'KISS!'
And the singer was like, 'Oh, um, well those count I guess, but the next song by AC/DC!' and they launched into a very awesome version of Thunderstruck, haha. I was dyin'. Good times!
